NICK DAY
Producer/Director

Nick Day studied cinema at the British Film Institute/University of London, and over the last 25 years his credits have included a diverse range of documentaries, commercials and news features. In his work on consciousness, he has interviewed Sir Roger Penrose, Deepak Chopra, Rupert Sheldrake, Antonio Damasio, Daniel Dennett, Huston Smith, Peter Russell, Robert Lanza, Nassim Haramein, David Chalmers, Susan Blackmore, Amit Goswami, Adyashanti, Dean Radin, Marilyn Schlitz, Robert J. Sawyer, and many more.

Nick co-directed the highly acclaimed documentary Short Cut to Nirvana with Maurizio Benazzo, which played in theaters across the US and Europe. He also won a screenwriters' award for the WWII drama, The Fallen. He has appeared on panels on conscious filmmaking and guest-lectured at USC Graduate Film School and UC Berkeley Anthropology Department.

Nick is co-creator of the animated feature Mindville with Stuart Hameroff, currently in development. As part of his lifelong exploration into the mysteries of human consciousness, he recently trained as a hypnotist.

  

STUART HAMEROFF
Producer/Scientific Advisor 		Stuart Hameroff is Professor Emeritus, Departments of Anesthesiology and Psychology and Director of the Center for Consciousness Studies, at the University of Arizona, Tucson.

Following an interest in the computational capacity of microtubules inside neurons, Stuart teamed up with the eminent British physicist Sir Roger Penrose in the early 90s to develop a highly controversial theory of consciousness called orchestrated objective reduction (Orch. OR).

In 1994, he began the Toward a Science of Consciousness conference as Director of CCS. He has lectured around the world and organized many international conferences.

Stuart was featured in the film What the Bleep Do We Know!? as well as numerous BBC, PBS, and Discovery, Learning and History Channel TV documentaries related to consciousness and the possibilities for a scientific basis for spirituality.

Stuart is co-creator of the animated feature Mindville with Nick Day, currently in development.

 



MAURIZIO BENAZZO
Co-producer
Maurizio Benazzo grew up in Genova, Italy, where he spent the early part of his adult life working for the local government creating internationally renowned social centers, and writing about education and pedagogy. It was also at an early age that he began actively traveling the spiritual path, exploring the practices of Zen Buddhism, Transcendental Meditation, Yogic philosophy, Catholicism and Philosophy.

His production credits include Short Cut to Nirvana with Nick Day, and the "I am That I Am" series of DVDs on the life and teachings of Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj.

Maurizio founded the Science and Nonduality Conference, which is held in California annually.
