NICK DAYProducer | Presenter | Public Speaker Nick Day's production journey stretches back to the 1980s, when he trained and worked as a video editor while studying cinema at the British Film Institute in London. Relocating to New York City, his company Sundial Productions provided post production services for TV stations, advertising agencies and independent filmmakers. Sundial also produced news and documentary content for international broadcasters such as RAI Corporation Italy, ZDF Germany and Globosat Brazil. Nick traveled to India with fellow filmmaker Maurizio Benazzo to make a documentary about the Maha Kumbh Mela festival, the biggest event in the history of humanity, which attracts over 70 million people. Their film, Short Cut to Nirvana, went on to win several awards and gather much critical acclaim. Short Cut played in movie theaters in over 100 cities in the US and has been seen around the world. Nick won a screenwriter's award for the WWII feature film The Fallen, which was also distributed as Letters From The Dead in several international markets. More recently he has focused his attention on the phenomenon of consciousness and the nature of reality. Nick is the producer and presenter of Consciousness Central, an annual series of programs from The Science of Consciousness Conference. Nick also gives talks on consciousness and the creative arts, and has presented at various high profile events, including the Science of Consciousness (TSC) conference, Science and Nonduality Conference (SAND), the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) conference, the Society For Consciousness Studies, BOOM Festival, and Burning Man. He has guest-lectured at UC Berkeley Department of Anthropology and USC School of Cinematic Arts, and his television and radio appearances include BBC World, WBAI New York, KQED San Francisco and KPFK Los Angeles.
